Symmetrical Gallery Wall

Symmetrical Gallery Wall

Good morning, friends! I realized that although my house is finally coming together, one major thing missing is personal photos. I decided to create a gallery wall in my office to remedy that situation. First, I chose the wall that I'd use. This particular wall just has a bench on it, but I had a lot of extra blank wall space so it had room for a gallery on it. If you're thinking of creating your own gallery wall, finding a space is probably the most important part. You don't want to make your home look cluttered, so look for a space that feels incomplete as it is. That way, when you add to it, it just feels complete not overdone. Gallery Wall Next up, I printed out some of my favorite recent photos. I wanted this gallery wall to be symmetrical so I chose all square frames and photos. It's been a long time since I printed out photos, but Walgreens had the option to order square 4" x 4" photos online and pick up in an hour. Gallery Wall I ordered a set of 9 frames on Amazon (where I get basically everything). My favorite frames are these ones. I decided to forego these ones and get a cheaper option online because I was buying 9 of them. I regret doing this because you really do get what you pay for. The frames I ended up with will definitely work, but they got marked up really easily. I found myself cleaning them off every time I touched them (even with freshly washed hands). Never in my life did I think I'd have to wash my hands multiple times to touch a picture frame without getting it dirty...I was wrong. Gallery Wall These are the photos and order I chose to hang them up in. Next up, I measured out where I wanted to gallery to hang, how much space between each photo, and where each nail needed to be put into the wall. I absolutely love how this wall turned out. Every time I'm in my office, it makes me so happy to look at so many great memories and some of the most special people in my life. IMG_9352 Overall, this was a pretty easy project, but there was more math involved than I originally anticipated. I also learned the hard way that the molding at the top of my walls are not straight so the measuring was a tad frustrating. That will be much easier if you live in a newer house, or if the people who built your house know how to hang molding straight! I'm working on some other home decor posts for you coming up so I hope you're enjoying these (: xoxo, Sarah
