If you know anything about me, you know I live and breathe for perfectly manicured nails. I'm the first to admit that it's a bit of a problem. There's just something about having your nails done that makes you look put together. If my nails chip, I have to redo them that day. I also don't leave the house without my nails done. I feel naked. I know that seems extreme, but I'm just preaching my truth! Most of my friends have never seen me without nail polish on. That's a true fact.
I personally like to do my own manicures, but pedicures I like to get done at the salon. I'd consider myself a pro at painting my fingernails (watch my at-home mani tutorial video
here) My feet are another, not-so-pretty story. I've also noticed that pedicures last much longer than manicures do so I feel like I get my money's worth by getting pedicures.
That being said, my pedicure color changes much less rapidly than my mani color. Sometimes I really love having the same color on both my hands and feet, but sometimes I just need to change it up. Today I want to share some tips to choosing the perfect nail polish combo.
Before I turn into a color nerd on you, I'll share a simple color wheel with you. I also included an example of colors in my collection that follow each tip I share below!
1. You can always get away with wearing the same color on both your hands and feet. Period.
2. Choose complementing colors. That means colors that are on opposite sides of the color wheel as each other. For example orange and blue are directly across from each other.
My example: Got Myself into a Jam-balaya & Gargantuan Green Grape
3. Choose analogous colors. These are colors found next to each other on the color wheel. Red and orange, for example.
My example: Got Myself into a Jam-balaya & Elephantastic Pink
4. Two shades of the same color is a great option. Think bright pink on your toes and a light pink on your hands.

5. A bright/bold/dark color and a neutral. Just like with clothing, anything goes with neutrals. You can follow the same rule with your nail polishes.
